Der One-Man-Band-Künstler DEGURUTIENI aus Nishinari, Osaka, bewegt sich irgendwo zwischen Exotica, Rock’n’Roll, Cabaret, Industrial und musikalischem Schrottplatz-Zauber. Mit kaputten Kassettendecks, manipulierten Plattenspielern, Kinderspielzeug, Gitarre und Megafon erschafft er einen ebenso skurrilen wie einzigartigen Sound.
Jede Performance ist ein unvorhersehbares Kaleidoskop aus Musik, Poesie und Performancekunst. Seine Songs verbinden Melodie mit Chaos, Trash mit Schönheit und erzählen Geschichten, die ebenso absurd wie berührend sind.
Seit Jahrzehnten tourt DEGURUTIENI durch die ganze Welt und begeistert sein Publikum in Clubs, Theatern, Galerien und auf der Strasse. Wer ihn einmal erlebt hat, geht meist mit einem breiten Grinsen – und einigen Fragezeichen – nach Hause.

Zwischen Mondo Exotica, Trash, Rock’n’Roll, Cabaret und Lo-Fi-Klangexperimenten erschafft Alco Degurutieni eine unverwechselbare musikalische Welt aus kaputten Kassettenrecordern, verstimmten Plattenspielern, Kinderspielzeug und Fundstücken aller Art.
Jede Performance gleicht einem Kaleidoskop: mal exotisch und verspielt, mal düster und industriell, dann wieder poetisch, humorvoll und überraschend berührend. Seine Texte sind Collagen aus gesammelten Geschichten, Beobachtungen und Fragmenten – erzählt mit der Haltung eines Geschichtenerzählers und der Energie eines Strassenmusikers.
Aufgewachsen im Nishinari-Viertel von Osaka, einem von sozialen Gegensätzen geprägten Stadtteil, entwickelte Degurutieni früh seine Faszination für das Schöne im Kaputten

DEGURUTIENI is a One Man Band from Osaka, Japan.
Each performance is like a kaleidoscope – always changing. Most times exotica, some industrial and Rock'n'Roll, a sprinkle of cabaret, a sideshow act perhaps... but always with lyrics that have been collected, spliced, recounted and retold like that of a poet.
What started as a solo project has sometimes morphed to include band members and has birthed many collaborations with talented artists from Europe, USA, Thailand, Morocco, Russia and more.
